The shaft is made from black anodised aluminium tubing.Fully waterproof. Saltwater proof, has been tested in saltwater with no corrosion, we do advise washing with fresh water after use in salt water.The base of the pole has a 1/4 inch thread for mounting the pole onto any standard camera tripod.
